Great News we joined the NYCFTC!

Hi everyone!

We are very excited to share that we are now a member of the NYC Fair Trade Coalition!

The NYC Fair Trade Coalition is an all-volunteer grassroots organization that promotes fair trade businesses and retailers in New York City and educates consumers on the importance of fair trade. It partners with ethically-aligned businesses, retailers, NGOs, and citizens in New York City to host events and engage the public in dialogue.

Feels great to be among such amazing small businesses that are making a difference in this world and educating consumers on the importance of fair trade.

Volunteering at FABSCRAP

Let’s talk FABSCRAP!

We had the opportunity to visit and volunteer last week.  FABSCRAP is a nonprofit organization founded in 2016 taking action to reduce textile waste. YAY!

They do an extraordinary job by picking up about 3,500 pounds of fabric PER WEEK from over 200 designer houses and companies in NYC. All the fabric is then sorted and recycled so other brands, organizations, designers and individuals can create super awesome products from recycled materials combating environmental pollution and waste of resources.

CHEERS to them & everyone making a difference in this world.

FYI, by volunteering, you score 5 pounds of fabric free of charge.  You can also visit them and shop.

We have some NEWS to share!

If you have been following our journey, you know that we have been supporting Puerto Rico and we’ll continue to do so.

On our latest visit to PR, we had the pleasure of meeting Cecilia La Luz, founder of Centro Comunitario LGBTT de Puerto Rico, and her team. Ever since its creation in 2011, this non-profit organization has been providing support to the LGBTT community in the island.

Currently, the Center is also helping the LGBTT community affected by Hurricane Maria and we want to contribute as well. Part of our core values is our commitment to improve the lives of others and future generations, regardless of gender, race, age or sexual orientation.

Today, we are excited to launch this limited edition Puerto Rico Pride t-shirt designed in collaboration with the Centro!

Only 200 will be available and we will be donating $10 of each t-shirt sold to the Centro Comunitario LGBTT de Puerto Rico.  Our t-shirts are made of 60% organic cotton, 40% recycled plastic bottles and are Fair Trade Certified. The art is handmade, so you pick the colors you like the best!

It's official! We are part of the MiQ family!

We joined MiQ at the beginning of the year.  They have been awesome providing us with space and opportunities to sell and market our products.

On January 20th women, men and children in New York City and around the globe hit the street to march together towards Women's Rights and of course, AROUND was there.  We raised our voices, we marched, we stand up among a wonderful crowd of people and we will continue to fight for women's equality!

Happy Women’s History Month!

Happy Women’s History Month!
What started as a national observance day in 1909, was then extended to a week in 1978 and finally, in 1987, Congress declared March as the official month to celebrate and highlight women’s contributions to events in history and society.

Cheers to all the courageous women who made this happen. Women’s history is women’s right!
