Meet the Artist
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Jenn has been involved in the Fashion Industry for over a decade. Jenn spent her college years in universities from San Juan, Puerto Rico to San Bernardino, California, and Salamanca, Spain, earning a degree in Business Administration and Marketing, in addition to Event Coordination, Fashion Design and Pattern Making certification studies. Her interest in business and fashion sent her to Barcelona, where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Fashion Management.
Less than a year after completing her MBA, Jenn took a leap of faith and moved to NYC, looking for new opportunities; determined to continue her career in the Fashion Industry.
After 5 years working in the apparel industry in NYC, an eye-opening documentary and extensive hours of research about the Fast Fashion Industry changed the course of her career and thinking. After a few months of brainstorming ideas, she decided to use her knowledge and experience as a vehicle for change to make a difference in the world.
Now, Jenn is the founder of Around Eco a social enterprise supporting better working conditions for farmers, factory workers and women’s empowerment in India. Around Eco’s travel-inspired t-shirts are not only Fair Trade Certified™, but also eco-friendly, made out of organic cotton, recycled plastic bottles, and natural dyes. Jenn is involved in the entire process of running the business, she even designs and handprint each one of the t-shirts herself in NYC!
